Friday, November 6, 2015. Orange Walk Bureau Reporting: The mother of 24 year old Kevin Salazar, who remains in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), is pleading to the public in locating her son’s attacker.
According to Maritza Gonzalez, she flew from the US on Monday to be by her son’s side at the hospital and could not reach out to authorities about their investigations.
Today, Gonzalez and witnesses to the incident visited the Orange Walk Police for a follow up report. The witnesses told police that they know the individual who attacked Salazar with a piece of stick behind the head, fracturing his skull.
While we cannot disclose the name at this juncture, police are actively seeking the individual for questioning. Meanwhile, doctors say Salazar has a 50/50 chance of survival. We will keep monitoring this story as it develops.
