Wednesday, November 11th, 2015. BMG: Belize City Police is investigating of a 51-year-old man who was charged by police for a brawl he was involved in, shortly before being hospitalized. Arlie Andrew Avilez of Belize City was arrested then charged for “wounding”, appearing in court on October 13th and was hospitalized two days later on the 15th.
Just 10 days after being admitted at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), Avilezpassed away and it was until yesterday that a post-mortem examination was conducted on his body. That examination certified that his cause of death was Cordiac thrembo-embolism, due to acute cerebral Aedema, due to multipetecheal Paranchymal, due to Brain Haemorrhage/Head Trauma, which could have been caused during the brawl he was involved in since it was so intense that he and his opponent fell into a drain.
The Police Department has stated that it will forward the file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice after the investigation is completed.
