Thursday, November 19, 2015. BMG: Senior Superintendent of Police and Commander of the Eastern Division South, Chester Williams, reports that there has only been two murders in that area since the beginning of September, which is surprising since it is known for violence.
Williams credits the peaceful months to good police work and told the media that September of this year was the first month that no murder was reported in that area and since then, there has been only two murders, which were in October. He further stated that Precinct Two has not had any murders for almost three months now, an accomplishment which he described as unprecedented.
Williams said the improvements in those areas come from community policing initiatives, neighborhood watch groups and interventions done by his self and other stakeholders in those communities.
