Tuesday, November 24th, 2015. BMG: International fugitive wanted in Mexico for his role in the Stanford Ponzi Scheme, David Nanes Schnitzer, was released on bail from the Supreme Court on Friday, November 20th and has not been seen in San Pedro since.
Schnitzer is said to have scammed investors in Mexico out of US $42,000,000 and had multi-million dollar holdings in San Pedro but his Belizean passport was revoked last Wednesday when it was discovered that he acquired it through means of fraud, back in 2012.
That fact was not presented in court though and the judge denied the Director of Public Prosecution’s request for an adjournment to gather evidence, granting Schnitzer bail and citing his assets in Belize.
At this time, no one knows for sure where Schnitzer is but it is speculated that he has left the country, violating his bail agreement and is once again on the run.
