Police recovered a cell phone stolen from the deceased when they were picked up earlier today, as explained by the CIB officer in charge of Southside Belize City, Inspector Alejandro Cowo.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Chester Williams, the surveillance video from the establishment, edited through the kind courtesy of Channel 7 News and its director Jules Vasquez, was essential in locating and capturing the suspects, whom he described as “amateurs” as the shooter panicked when Perez would not cooperate with them, and shot him.
Williams said that a reward would be sourced from various funds for those persons who assisted in the investigation; however, the main reward offered by Crimestoppers goes unclaimed.
