ammuniationBy Aaron Humes: Volunteer in the Belize Defence Force 34 year old Kingsley Cadle will spend five years in prison after pleading guilty today to keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license.

Magistrate Deborah Rogers had down concurrent sentences of five years on each charge after taking the plea in court today. Another man, Anthony Garbutt, was charged jointly with Cadle but the charges were withdrawn form him after Cadle’s guilty plea was accepted.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, a police mobile patrol was coming from Sandhill and was heading towards Ladyville when its occupants saw an object being thrown from a black Infiniti car that was at the corner of Los Lagos and the Philip Goldson Highway.

The police intercepted the car and on searching the area they found one .22 pistol with 5 rounds of ammunition in its magazine. Neither of the two occupants of the car, Cadle and Garbutt, were able to produce any license for the firearm, so they were arrested and charged.
