By Aaron Humes: Twenty-five year old Jeffrey McDougal, a labourer of 40 King Street who allegedly shot another man, was charged with dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm when he appeared today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser.
She explained to him that she will not take a plea because the offences are indictable and she cannot offer him bail because of the nature of the offence. She remanded him into custody until February 15, 2016. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 13.
Twenty-five year old Brandon Allen reported to the police that he was walking on East Canal Street and when he reached the junction of East Canal Street and Water Lane someone fired several shots at him.
Allen received one gunshot injury to his buttocks. He was admitted to ward at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where his condition is reported to be critical but stable.
