By Delilah Ical: Orange Walk police made a bust of over five pounds of marijuana over the weekend.
Authorities report that on Friday December 18th the Formation’s Quick Response Team searched a gold, four door Escalade SUV at about 11:49 that night.
In one of the speakers officers found three large parcels wrapped in plastic which contained a leafy substance consistent with cannabis. The substance was weighted and proved to be 2669.7 grams or 5.8 pounds of the drug.
The three occupants: Alrick Smith, a Belizean mechanic of Ladyville Village; Norely Cruz, a Belizean Coast Guard Of Ladyville Village and Ming Pei Chuy, business man of Lords Bank Village were arrested and charged for ‘drug trafficking’.
The men are presently being held at the Orange Walk Police Station pending charges.
