By Chrisbert Garcia: San Ignacio Police are investigating the case of a fraudulent cheque received by Caribbean Tires in Spanish Lookout on Tuesday, December 29th in the name of ‘House of Salvation’ as payment for six tires that were sold on December 10th.
The tires, each valued at $850.50 were picked up by two male persons and the Belize Bank cheque was for that total amount of $5,103 to cover the cost, but when the credit manager of Caribbean Tires inquired with the bank, she was told that such account had been closed two years ago and the signatures on the cheque did not match the ones they had on file.
