9. CRIMEBy BMG Staff: Two people were remanded to the Hattieville prison this morning after being implicated in the investigation of Dark Night owner Bradley Paumen and an alleged plot to kill four people.

Ian Skeen, an employee of Paumen’s, and Linzburn Anderson, Paumen’s former employee and mechanic, were arraigned at the Belmopan Magistrates Court on Monday morning on two counts of ‘abetment to commit murder’ each, for allegedly making a $3,000 payment as partial payment for the murder of Michael Modiri, an Iranian-American Paumen has a legal dispute with and Domingo Cal, a former employee of Paumen’s.

Skeen and Anderson were both arrested over the weekend and remanded to prison until Friday when attorneys will submit an application for bail in the Supreme Court in Belize City.

Paumen was granted bail last Friday in the Supreme Court despite objection from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) who even brought up the case of David Nanes Schnitzer who was granted bail and skipped the country. Paumen, a millionaire investor, is considered a flight risk because he has assets in Belize and the US.

Paumen was arrested on January 6th by officers of the Special Branch. On the 8th he was taken to San Ignacio where he was arraigned on four counts of ‘abetment to murder’ and pled ‘not guilty’ but was remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

He was arrested for allegedly planning a hit on Modiri, his body guard, Modiri’s attorney and a former employee.
