By Aaron Humes: Executive members of the Federation of Cruise Tourism Associations of Belize (FECTAB) have stated that the local regulatory institutions continue to treat them differently, and in FECTABtheir view more unfairly, than foreign-owned rivals Chukka and Dark Night Adventure.

It has been a regular complaint of theirs and they renewed it today in a press briefing in Belize City.

Yohnny Rosado, outspoken operator of Cavetubing.bz, says the boom in tourism is not uniform and is distributed mostly to the large operators while the smaller operators are left with the crumbs.

Worse, he says, the regulation has not been enforced across the board.

FECTAB also questions plans for the cruise port in Port Loyola, due to the shadow of Lord Michael Ashcroft as an investor.

President Tom Greenwood says they are not asking for regulations to be withdrawn, merely for them to be enforced across the board-put in the booths at the non-Belizean-owned properties on the George Price Highway.
