By BMG Staff: The debate, in which the three People’s United Party (PUP) candidates were supposed to square off flexing brain muscle, has been canceled because two of the three did not answer a request to participate.
According to the organizers of the debate, Francis Fonseca was the only candidate to declare his willingness to participate in the event. Cordel Hyde and John Briceño both failed to formally respond to the organizing committee indicating whether or not they would participate.
The committee thanked Fonseca for his willingness to participate in the unprecedented event. The debate would have been the first of its kind and many looked forward to having the three aspirants answer tough questions regarding issues currently affecting the country.
The questions, which were solicited from the public, will be released to the public tomorrow, according to the committee. The organizers also thanked those who sponsored and supported the event even though it never came to be.
