By Chrisbert Garcia: A joint anti-drug operation conducted by the Benque Viejo Police Quick Response Team, its Special Branch Unit, the San Ignacio Quick Response Team and the K-9 Unit this morning, netted a total of 4.4 pounds (1979.58 grams) of cannabis.
Around 5:00 a.m., the team, under Superintendent Raymundo Reyes’ command, made four arrests at a residence on the corner of Church and Victoria Streets in Benque Viejo Town, Cayo District, and another arrest at a residence in the Hills of Promise area, all cannabis related.
Frederick Avila, 41, Cynthia Naj, 34, Sergio Cuellar, 46, and Judith Torres, 46, all of the same yard, were charged with varying offencss of ‘possession of controlled drugs’ and ‘drug trafficking’ for a total of 1967.5 grams of cannabis found at that location.
Reginaldo Moralez, 26, was also charged for ‘possession of controlled drugs’ after a search at his Hills of Promise area home resulted in the discovery of 12.4 grams of cannabis.
