By BBN Staff: Police operations in areas of Belize City, Orange Walk and Cayo yesterday, netted a total of three and a half pounds of weed, as well as a 16 gauge shotgun, which were all deposited as “found property”.
In the old capital, its South Side Strike Team with assistance from the K9 Unit, searched Taylor’s Alley, Pelican Street Extension, Vernon Street, Gill Street, Fabers Road Extension and Fabers Road, where a total of 885.9 grams (1.95 pounds) of weed was found and two arrests were made.
Then in Orange Walk District, acting upon information received around 11:30 a.m., officers searched the river bank in San Roman Village and found a 16 gauge shotgun with a brown handle underneath some grass. No one was in the immediate area at the time of discovery.
Later in the day, around 4:30 p.m., San Ignacio Police officers on mobile patrol searched an abandoned trailer on Santa Lucia Street, in which they found a black plastic bag containing 704 grams (1.6 pounds) of weed. Again, no one was in the area at the time of discovery.
There was also and operation conducted by Belize City Police over the weekend, which led to the discovery of 156.9 grams of weed on Tribuce Street and the arrest of four men for “drug trafficking”. Those arrested are: 24-year-old Conrad Lewis Cole, 20-year-old Alex Broaster, 25-year-old Derick Panton Pineda and 21-year-old Ryan Michael Cole.
