9. CRIMEBy BBN Staff: A 26-year-old Belize City mechanic, Cameron Jerryson Slusher, was charged by police for the offence of “aggravated assault” yesterday, in connection to an incident that occurred last week Wednesday.

It was reported by a security officer yesterday that on February 17, around 11:00 a.m. while he was working at Moon Superstore on Coney Drive in Belize City, three male persons with a firearm exited a Toyota car and assaulted him.

The victim stated that two of the men approached him and one introduced himself as a police officer, claiming to be doing area checks, asking the guard if he had a security license and a firearm.

After telling the men he had to check with the security office in order to give them that information, a third male person with a shotgun got out of the car. When the security officer still refused to comply with them, the trio got back in their car and sped off.
