By Beverly Vernon: In the National Elite Basketball League this weekend, the first game on 
Friday night will see the undefeated Belize Hurricanes taking on Belmopan’s Bandits at Elementary Gym 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday in Dangriga, its Warriors will go up against Belize City’s No Limits at Ecumenical Auditorium 8:00 p.m.
Also starting at 8:00 Saturday night, Western Ballaz will travel from Cayo to try and hand Independence Thunderbolts another loss at the Independence High School Auditorium.
Diverting to the Premier Football League, the first game of the weekend will be in Independence Village on Saturday when Wagiya will take on Placencia’s Assassins at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
Then on Sunday in Belize City, Verdes FC will try to edge out BDF FC at the MMC Grounds beginning at 4:00 p.m. when another game will be starting in Cayo, where Police FC will challenge Belmopan Bandits in what promises to be an exciting match at the Norman Broaster Stadium.
