By Aaron Humes: Senators Lisa Shoman, Patrick Andrews and Anthony Sylvestre are stepping aside after several years representing the People’s United Party in the upper chamber.
The party confirmed by press release today the appointments, as soon as the Senate next meets, of Senior Counsel Eamon Courtenay; Valerie Woods; and Paul Thompson as their replacements.
Courtenay was a Senator during the Said Musa administration, while Thompson ran unsuccessfully for the PUP in the Albert constituency during November’s general elections.
Woods is currently first vice-president of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) and country manager for Chukka Belize Tours.
