By Aaron Humes: Thirty-eight year old Denbigh Neal, one of three men charged with handling stolen goods for a portion of $20,700 worth of construction material, pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared today before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza.
Neal was spared a custodial sentence. He was fined $1,500 and he was given until July 30 to pay. If he defaults on payment he will serve 10 months. The charge was not withdrawn from 50 year old Jewel Waight and 51 year old Richman Gillett, the other two persons charged. They were each offered bail of $1,500 and their case was adjourned until April 22.
Chinese businessman Jia Lin He reported to the police that between Friday, March 4 and Monday, March 7, several construction material were stolen from his business place, located at 69 Eve Street. The police charged the three after they were found with 37 cement blocks, which were a small portion of the stolen items.
