By Aaron Humes: Forty one year old Oscar Gomez may have committed suicide on Thursday night in Lords’ Bank, but the case is strange enough that police have not ruled out foul play.
Investigators from Eastern Division Rural are probing the circumstances leading up to the death of the Salvadoran man and today Assistant Commissioner of Police Edward Broaster told us that it appears Gomez may have shot himself several times.
ACP Broaster informed that their preliminary investigation has revealed that Gomez was acting strangely – in the hours leading up to his death, and alcohol may have “pushed him over the edge”.
A family member has said that Gomez appeared regularly drunk but it was not clear that he suffered from depression. Police recovered the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing of Oscar Gomez and it will be processed for fingerprints.
