By BBN Staff: Over the weekend, a group of Belizean law enforcement personnel dubbed the ‘Belize Protectors’, traveled to the United States and participated in a 120 mile long ‘Baker2Vegas’ relay race along with 260 other teams from that country.
Having been invited to this annual event for the first time, Belize was represented by a team of 25 males and females who conquered the 20 leg race in the sixth overall fastest time, which was 14 hours, 23 minutes and eight seconds. The team also won first place in their category and have been invited back to participate in next year’s event.
The Protectors were greeted warmly today as they arrived into the country with a motorcade through Belize City’s Streets. Breaking Belize News congratulates the team for making Belize proud on the international stage.
