By BBN Staff: A late season cold front will become stationary over our area and support an increase in moisture and instability during the next couple of days.
The National Meteorological Service of Belize is predicting sunny skies with cloudy spells this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow morning. Some showers and a few thunderstorms will occur mostly over northern and inland areas this afternoon and evening, then spread to the coast, as well as the South tonight and tomorrow morning. Thunderstorms can be severe and at times accompanied by damaging winds.
Winds will be blowing from the Northeast at 5-15 knots becoming northerly tonight and the sea state will be choppy.
High temperatures today are expected around 92 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 100 degrees Fahrenheit inland and a comfortable 84 degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.
A high tide is expected this evening at 5:36 and a low tide tomorrow morning at 12:56.
The sun will set at 6:06 this evening.
The extended forecast into Monday morning calls for cloudy skies with a few showers, periods of rain or isolated thunderstorms over most areas as the cold front becomes stationary.
