By Aaron Humes: A report commissioned by the Ministry of Human Development following an investigation into the fatal Youth Hostel fire last November continues to be delayed for public release 
because of ongoing legal and similar procedures masterminded by the Public Service Commission and Solicitor General’s Office.
While Police continue their criminal investigation, one worker has been terminated and others are facing disciplinary charges.
But we wanted to know from CEO in the Ministry Judith Alpuche what the report said generally about conditions at the Hostel and how those would be improved. While staying away from specifics, the CEO said the report has been helpful in that regard, augmenting the Ministry’s own reforms.
Former Family Court director Margaret Nicholas and social worker Florence Dillett were appointed to lead the investigation, but neither has commented publicly.
