Butane prices cut by $3

Friday, June 19th, 2015. BMG: Belizeans have so far enjoyed a reduction of more than a third in prices of liquid petroleum gas (LPG), commonly known as butane, since September of 2014 due to falling world oil prices.

Butane price goes down

On Thursday the Supplies Control Unit in the Ministry of Trade issued notice that effective immediately there would be a further cut of $3.

Customers buying Mexican imported LPG from Belize Gas and Western Gas will pay between $87 and $92, down from the $90-95 range. LPG imported from Central America will sell for between $85 and $90 per municipality, down from $88-$93. Belize Natural Energy (BNE)-produced LPG sold across the center of the country in the Belize and Cayo Districts has a flat rate of $85.
