By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: In a recent announcement by the Supplies Control Unit (SCU) within the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise, the public has been informed of new controlled prices for the sale of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
This adjustment in pricing structure, effective immediately, encompasses both wholesale and retail sales across urban and rural regions.
The revised prices for LPG, categorized by district and area, are as follows:

The Ministry of Agriculture noted that the newly established prices signify a decrease of BZ$0.18 per gallon compared to the previous rates.
This reduction is primarily attributed to the decreased acquisition costs of both propane and butane, contributing to more affordable pricing for consumers.
It is crucial to note that the prices set for imported LPG adhere strictly to the 70:30 (Propane: Butane) mixture, in accordance with the Belize National Standard Specification for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) BZS 21:2012.
