Beaver Dam Bridge – George Price Highway (Mile 38)

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing informs the public of essential maintenance to one of its bridge assets, the Beaver Dam Bridge, located at approximately mile 38 on the George Price Highway.

Significant and unavoidable maintenance works are scheduled to occur on Saturday, 15th June and Sunday, 16th June, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The public is advised of the need for the replacement of top chord members of the truss bridge, which were damaged by oversized loads. The bent steel sections will be replaced using heavy machinery positioned on the bridge deck. This will restrict traffic across the bridge to one lane. Due to the size and length of the new members, the bridge may be closed for short periods of time. No oversized loads (cargo that takes up more than one lane) shall pass on either day during the time of works.

The Ministry thanks the public for their kind cooperation in respecting the works teams as they strive to preserve our infrastructure assets. Please abide by the warning signs and flag persons. Drive with due care and attention at all times, especially while traversing the active work site.
