Gunfire erupts in Majestic Alley: Licensed gun owner returns fire

By Horace Palacio: A shooting incident occurred in Majestic Alley, Belize City on Sunday, June 16th, 2024, resulting in one individual being injured.

According to a 47-year-old witness, two individuals on a motorcycle were seen firing shots through Majestic Alley at approximately 12:20 PM. The witness, a licensed firearm holder, returned fire at the motorcycle with his 9mm pistol.

Shortly after, a 21-year-old individual arrived at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) with a gunshot wound, claiming to have been caught in the crossfire while passing through the alley to purchase food.

Authorities responded to the scene, recovering several expended shells. The incident is currently under investigation.
