Belize City man shot while passing through Majestic Alley by armed gunmen on motorcycle

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City man is admitted to hospital after being shot at by two armed men on a motorcycle.

The victim has been identified as Alex Lino, 21, who told police that he was passing through Majestic Alley just after midday on his way to buy food when he heard gunfire.

He then realized that he had been shot and diverted to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

Another man in the area told police that he was in front of the old City Hall on North Front Street when he saw the shooters opening fire. He responded by firing at them with his own licensed nine-millimeter pistol.

It is not clear what happened to the shooters thereafter but police have opened an investigation.
