Belize weather update: Get ready for more rain

By Horace Palacio: Belizeans across the country can expect another damp day as the low-pressure system continues to dominate our weather. The National Meteorological Service forecasts cloudy skies with intermittent sunshine, but be prepared for scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the north and central regions as the afternoon rolls around.

Overnight won’t bring much relief, with cloudy spells and occasional showers or thunderstorms predicted. Boaters beware: a Small Craft Caution is in effect due to choppy seas and moderate waves of 3-6 feet. Winds from the south-southeast at 5-15 knots may become gusty during heavier showers.

If you’re headed to the coast, expect highs of 88°F (31°C) and lows of 80°F (27°C). Inland dwellers will experience slightly warmer temperatures, reaching 92°F (33°C) during the day and cooling to 74°F (23°C) at night. Those in the hills can anticipate a comfortable range of 78°F (26°C) to 68°F (20°C).
