Prime Minister Briceño encourages diaspora investment at 2024 Diaspora Summit

By Horace Palacio: Prime Minister John Briceño made a passionate appeal for diaspora investment during his keynote address at the Belize Investment Forum in Los Angeles today. The forum is a central event of the 2024 Diaspora Summit, aimed at strengthening ties between Belize and its overseas community.

“Our diaspora is eager to invest in their homeland and contribute to Belize’s progress,” stated Prime Minister Briceño, emphasizing the significant role Belizeans abroad play in the nation’s economic and social development. He called upon them to explore a wide range of investment opportunities available in Belize.

Accompanying the Prime Minister is a high-level delegation, including Cordel Hyde, Minister of Natural Resources, the CEO from the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, other related staff members, and Carlos Galvez, the Mayor of Punta Gorda Town.

Over the next few days, the delegation will engage with diaspora members, investors, and stakeholders to discuss potential projects and partnerships focused on sustainable development in Belize.

The summit and forum serve as crucial platforms for connecting Belize with its diaspora, promoting investment opportunities, and fostering the exchange of ideas and expertise.
