By. BBN Staff: Punta Gorda police are currently investigating the drowning of 21-year-old Thomas Salam from Blue Creek Village.
According to a police report, on June 20 around 2:30 a.m. police received information about a male person who allegedly drowned while on a fishing trip with four other men.
Initial investigations revealed that around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Salam and his companions went diving when he allegedly got stuck under water on some fallen submerged trees.
With the help of Alcalde’s from the village, his body was retrieved and transported to the Punta Gorda Hospital where it was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police continue their investigation.
