Kyiv, Ukraine – September 12, 2024 – H.E. Mrs. Rosanna Briceño, the esteemed wife of the Prime Minister of Belize, is currently attending the Fourth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen in Kyiv, Ukraine. The summit, hosted by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, is bringing together global leaders to discuss critical issues affecting families and children worldwide.

Mrs. Briceño will be a key participant in the dimension titled “Child Safety in the Family,” which focuses on pressing topics such as parenting challenges, government support for families, and mental health care for children within the family environment. – A special cover photoshoot for ELLE Ukraine will feature all attending First Ladies and Gentlemen. Visit to Okhmatdyt National Specialized Children’s Hospital:

– Mrs. Briceño and the delegation will visit Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital, a major medical facility in Ukraine severely impacted by recent missile attacks. The visit will include an inspection of the damaged buildings, including the Toxicology Building and Surgical Building, and an interaction with doctors and patients. This visit underscores the urgent need for international support in the face of ongoing conflicts.

Tour of the Child Rights Protection Center:

– The delegation will also tour the newly established Child Rights Protection Center, which serves children who have been victims or witnesses of crimes. The center, opened in 2023, provides critical medical, forensic, and therapeutic services. A meeting with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, D. Lubinets, will discuss the challenges faced by children deported by Russia and their reintegration into Ukrainian society.

UNICEF Podcast Recording:

– Mrs. Briceño will participate in a UNICEF podcast session, moderated by Danylo Gaidamakha, a history teacher and Teach for Ukraine participant. The podcast, which will be available on platforms such as YouTube and Spotify, will feature discussions on child safety and ethical considerations, with contributions from youth representative Polina Vedmid.
