By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: In his State of the Nation address today, Prime Minister John Briceño announced significant changes to income tax laws effective January 1, 2025.
Under the new policy, 2,851 workers earning less than $29,000 annually will be exempt from income tax.
Additionally, 733 employees will see adjustments in the tax laws designed to increase their take-home pay with salary increases.
The changes are expected to boost net take-home pay by over $3.3 million for 3,500 Belizeans.
