By Aaron Humes: Due to inclement weather over the City on Saturday, The Belize Telemedia Limited/Eastern Police Division (South Region) basketball tournament, now in its fifth week of games, was moved from St. John’s Primary School court on Euphrates Avenue across from Precinct One to the Wesley College/Yarborough Green court on Yabra Road.

But there was no dampening the enthusiasm of the participants who645da9f3-75a6-4142-8f02-1854dc1046f2 took to the court to show off their skills.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, who conceived of the idea of the tournament, says it is having some effect, however small, in keeping the crime wave from spreading: none of its participants have been victim or perpetrator in the ongoing crime wave.

Results posted by police show Yabra defeating Lake I by 35 to 30; Lakeland defeating Jump Street 34-26; ABS taking down Park Ballerz 33-24; and Jane  Usher recording a ten-point win, 34-24, over Complex Ballerz. Congratulations to all winners.
