By Aaron Humes: The People’s United Party (PUP) says Government and the Police Department have some serious explanations to make concerning its associations with murder accused William Mason.

Party Leader John Briceño pointed fingers at Minister of National Security John Saldivar; the top echelon of the Police Department; and Minister of Immigration and Nationality Godwin Hulse among others, for not properly investigating and running Mason to ground. He called for Saldivar to step down; Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber to be reprimanded; and head of the GSU Mark Flowers to stand aside.

Briceño called for international help to investigate the case of Llewellyn Lucas, saying that past instances such as the Elvin Penner immigration scandal, show that the Police cannot be trusted to lead an impartial investigation.

In terms of the general crime situation, Briceño called for more programs for youth and the revival of the Crime Control Commission to be chaired by the Chief Justice.
