By BBN Staff: The Embassy of Panama and the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture are bringing another cultural experience to Belizeans.
Both offices have arranged to bring the band Cellula, a pop and roots reggae band from Panama. The band is scheduled to play on July 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the San Ignancio Welcome Center and on July 24 at 6:00 in the evening at the Central Park.
This is the second collaboration between both offices. Earlier in July, with assistance from the Institute of Creative Arts (ICA), they brought a Panamanian actor and director to Belize as part of the Summer Arts Institute. The drama workshops concluded with a play performed in Orange Walk and San Pedro.
Director of ICA, Greg Vernon said of the partnership that “there are natural cultural similarities we share and we are excited to explore these bonds through music and other forms.”
One of the band’s latest albums is “Donde Todo Comenzo” which is available on iTunes; their music video “Solo un Beso” is available on Youtube. The band has performed with artists like Jah Cure, Beanie man and Damian Marley.
