Cayo police investigating series of burglaries

By BBN: Errie Anthony Manzanero, 33, from a Bullet Tree Falls address reported to police that on Sunday between midnight and 5:00 a.m. someone broke into his home and stole one black and brown single action shotgun valued $300; one single action 20 gauge ROSSI shotgun valued at $998 and other items including a brown Crossman pellet gun valued at $300 all to a total value of $2,656.

Police have since recovered all items and have detained two persons pending charges.

Businessman William Grimshaw from the village of Camalote in the Cayo District also reported to police that between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on July 24, that his residence was burglarized and a 9-millimeter Ruger P95 pistol and 17 live rounds valued at $2,500 were stolen. The burglars also took one blue and black HP laptop valued $2,000, a white and black Samsung Tablet valued at $1,200, a Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet with keyboard valued at $1,500,  and one silver necklace valued at $2,500 all to a total of $9,700.00.

Police investigation continues. The public is reminded that it is a crime to buy stolen goods.
