Monday, July 20th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Three teenagers are accused of breaking and entering a house and stealing a television set; however, one of them accuses police of trying to take advantage of her.
18 year old Regina Garnett and two boys aged 13 and 16 respectively, pleaded not guilty to burglary charges before Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith, who set bail at $500 each subject to their adhering to a 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily curfew and report to a social worker every Wednesday.
The incident took place on July 18 at the home of Mindy Pratt at Mile 2 1/2 on the George Price Highway. Police said they saw the trio leaving the house and recovered the item from nearby bushes.
But according to Garnett, she had gone to the house to search for a missing relative and when police arrived an officer allegedly took her upstairs, demanded sex from her and sexually assaulted her.
