By BBN Staff: The wooden bridge that connects Santa Elena with San Ignacio Town received extensive damages to the middle section during the flood that Hurricane Earl brought to the country last week.
The Ministry of Works will carry out an in-depth assessment of the damages when the water recedes to normal and they are estimating a downtime of 1 month for repairs to be conducted.
As a result of the wooden bridge being non functional, drivers and commuters in San Ignacio and Santa Elena are already facing a bit of a hassle since the Hawksworth Bridge is being used to facilitate two way traffic.
