By Aaron Humes: A 17 year old will turn 18 behind bars after being sent to the Wagner’s Youth Facility on remand for murder.
The minor was read charges in the Belize City Family Court for the Friday, August 12 murder of 37 year old Jason Young, aka “Packson”.
The popular footballer met his untimely death on Dolphin Street at around 6:40 a.m., as he was walking in the direction of Fairweather Street when upon reaching the intersection with Gibnut Street, he was approached by a male person who pointed a firearm at him and fired three shots, fatally wounding him.
Young was hit four times, two to the chest area and twice to the left wrist where he collapse to the ground on the side walk adjacent to a bus that was parked near the Roger’s Stadium.
Young died on the spot.
The father of four had just left home on Ebony Street, Belize City and was en route to work when he stopped at a nearby Tacos stand to buy breakfast.
The minor is no stranger to police or court and has had several run in with the law. His most recent run-in was when he was shot during what was believe to be a shooting attempt on another gone bad between he and friends.
The minor and two other males were charged with attempted murder upon another male after they lay waited the male through an alley of a school grounds and shots were fired where it was believed one of the minor own friend shot him accidentally.
