By Dalila Ical: A man has been rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital and is expected to be transferred shortly to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City after he was involved in an accident at the BSI factory this afternoon.
William Neal, the Communications and Government Affairs representative for ASR/BSI told BBN just now that one of the factory workers was handling machinery on the compound when the accident occurred. The incident is believed to have happened between 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.
The accident was not fatal and the worker has not been identified. The severity of his injuries has not been established so far.
Details are still sketchy and according to Neal, the factory is following protocol to ensure that the employee receives proper and urgent treatment.
The employee is covered by insurance.
