By BBN Staff: Vanessa Retreage, Attorney General, has confirmed that the Vital Statistics Unit’s internal investigation into how accused murderer William Danny Mason got a fraudulent Belizean birth certificate is completed, and a report has been made to police. 
Earlier Prime Minister Dean Barrow had stated that as many as four public officers had been implicated; however the A.G. would only confirm that “something irregular” took place with the certificate. Any specifics as to collusion or other involvement she directed to the VSU’s registrar.
Meanwhile the National Trade Union Congress of Belize noted that Llewellyn Lucas was an active member of their General Council as representative of the Southern Workers’ Union, and has called for an independent and international investigation into his death by beheading.
The NTUCB contends that their silence on national issues up to date does not mean that they are content with the management of these issues, and is earnestly working on strengthening its own internal operational mechanisms.
