By Aaron Humes: Because he went back on his word, Senator for the Churches Ashley Rocke has lost the confidence of the church leaders and must resign.
This is according to Pastor Louis Wade, leader of the I Want My Country Back Movement.
Wade told us today that whatever Rocke’s subsequent explanation for his vote in the Senate, both the Roman Catholic Church and National Evangelical Association of Belize have called for his resignation because he was specifically instructed to support the call for the Senate inquiry yet became the swing vote that voted down the Opposition’s motion.
Wade suggested that Rocke, the selection of the rump portion of the Evangelical church organization, was acting under orders from Pastor Howell Longsworth, who has ties to the United Democratic Party.
