By BBN Staff: This morning over 60 taxi drivers from five taxi associations joined in solidarity, protesting in front of the Benque Viejo Town council.
The drivers are protesting because according to them, a Melchor van is being allowed to bring students from Melchor to attend school in Belize and Melchor taxi drivers are making runs in Belize by obtaining Belize taxi license plates from transport authorities.
They claim that neither the Town Mayor nor the area representative have looked into the matter, which has hurt them financially.
