By BBN Staff: As of this morning, more than 1,000 responses have been made to the Belize Progressive Party’s non-binding People’s Referendum which started last month.
The Party has created a list of questions to be asked to the Belizean people, with polling to be completed on September 20th.
The BPP calls this an example of the kind of participatory democracy it wants to bring in.
Issues with governance were covered and the party takes credit in at least one instance for forcing government to begin enacting policy – the case of the vehicle policy being enforced by the Financial Secretary.
