Thursday, July 23, 2015. BMG: Police in Orange Walk Town have charged one man for attempting to rape a minor.
According to reports, on Tuesday around 9am, a 13 year old Belizean Mennonite in the presence of her father visited the police station where she reported that on Sunday at 8am, she went to her aunt’s house to babysit her children. During her visit around 1pm, a person known to her as Peter Lichterman arrived at the house and alleged to rape her in a room.
Police have since arrested and charged Lichterman for attempted sexual assault and attempted carnal knowledge.
