By BBN Staff: Belize’s state-run telephone company, Belize Telemedia Limited, has confirmed that it has employed the services of a Guatemalan telecommunication company Ingetelca to assist with their recovery process following the damages to its infrastructure from Hurricane Earl.
Belizeans who have seen the Guatemalan service trucks in the Belama area of Belize City have expressed concern but a BTL representative claims there is no cause for alarm as a BTL technician is always present alongside the Guatemalan technicians.
The company could not say how long the company will remain in Belize nor clarify why it was a Guatemalan company that was chosen for the collaboration.
On its website, the Guatemalan company names Intelco as a former client in Belize.
We will continue to follow the story.
