By BBN Staff: Marvin Kellyman, the General Manager of the Government Primary Schools has sent a letter to Principals around the country asking that schools remain open on Monday, October 3, 2016.
Kellyman also asks that the Principals submit to the Ministry of Education a list of names of all the teachers that will partake in the BNTU’s planned industrial action.
In the letter, Kellyman states, “It is very imperative that as school leaders, you act very responsibly in ensuring that the welfare and safety of all students under your care is administered.”
He goes on to say that it is expected that unimpeded opportunity is given to teachers who wish to teach and carry on their duties as responsible teachers.
He ends the letter by accentuating that teachers who participate in the industrial action have the right to do so but they must be mindful of the possible consequences for such actions.
