By BBN Staff:The Belize Red Cross has expressed its solidarity for Caribbean countries affected by Hurricane Matthew including Jamaica, Haiti and the Bahamas.
Hurricane Matthew continues to ravage eastern and central Florida as it makes its way northward.
The Belize Red Cross announced that the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies have launched an emergency appeal for $6.9 million to provide medical, shelter, water and sanitation assistance to 50 thousand people ravaged by the storm in the southwest portion of Haiti.
Volunteers and staff of the national societies are responding to the needs of the communities in all these countries.
