By BBN Staff: Police have detained one man in connection with the burning of Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Patrick Faber’s vehicle.
The incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday and the video surveillance on the DPM’s property caught the culprit when he climbed the gate with a gallon in his hand and lit the vehicle on fire.
Yesterday, Faber told the media that police are confident that the individual that was arrested is the person that perpetrated the crime. He also said that he is very concerned about the security of his family and finds the burning of his vehicle very unsettling.
The DPM also emphasized that he does not believe that it was orchestrated by the Belize National Teachers’ Union.
As a result of this incident, PM Barrow has approved 24 hour security at his residence.
