By BBN Staff: Residents of Arlington drive are pleading to the relevant authorities for help with the water situation in their area.

The water appears to have settled in their residences previously forcing them and their children to walk through it daily.

One would believe that this has been so in the aftermath of Hurricane Earl but residents say that the water is always there and it has been so for years.

A resident of the area, Sheree Lord, told BBN news that the water never seems to go away as it is like this even in the dry season.  She also shared with us that she had sought help by contacting Mayor of Belize City, Darrell Bradley from last year and he had said that he would do something to try and alleviate this problem. However, no attempt has been made to help.

The area representative for that constituency, Anthony Boots Martinez, has not visited the area in a long time, she said.

The walk-way that the residents use presently is one that was built by her husband so that they can leave their homes.

The residents continue to ask that attention be given to their area as this is a very serious matter because the dirty water is prone to mosquitos and diseases.
